After receiving e-mails about the site I decided to have a page devoted to anyone that worked at or attended any meets at the old strip. Then, what the heck, I decided to open it to anyone who would want to publish any pictures of the 50's era, etc.  So, Welcome!  If you would like to post something here send it to me and give a good description and away we go.  hldeshazo@aol.com
Jerold Cox, his wife and his car, I hope in that order? You will recognize him 52 years ago handing out the trophies in a picture at the top of this article. He is due much credit for the success of the strip
Busy on the computer the other day and an e-mail popped up. It was from Gary White of McKinney, TX. Come to find out that back in 56' and 57' he was attending McMurray college in Abilene, TX.  He owned a black, 1957 Chev Bel Air, ran it in "C" Gas made strips at Amarillo, Vernon, Lubbock, Colorado City Texas and even made the Oklahoma drags in 57. He remembers vividly having a problem beating a White 57' Ford Ranchero from Amarillo, TX.  You can see that Ranchero on page one. It was a consistent winner at Big Spring Timing strip. It was a husband and wife combination, she being the mechanic.
Anyway, Gary sent us some pictures to share and I'm making them a part of my site. Any others are welcome also.
He and his wife have been collecting, restoring and showing classic cars sine 1999.

Thanks to the both of you to allow me to show these 50's beauties. Fantastic job in restoring them. Makes me want to go back to the 50's when cars were really cars.
