Well, here we are in 2008. Looking back it seems that it was such a short journey. 1952 to 2008 just passed so quickly that I can't quite comprehend where the time went. It all started in Abilene, TX innocently enough. I was into motorcycles and college and needed a room to rent. The house with the room had a family I had met more than once having known their son who was into motorcycles.

Last Harley before CCC Also living in that house was a red head named Dorthy. It wasn't long before she was often riding behind me on my black Harley Davidson motorcycle. I had long since moved from the room to another town, fresh out of college and in a new job. The new job never kept me from coming back to spend the weekend in that room. The new job, along with a company car, kept me roaming around the State, never knowing which part of the State I would be in the next day but, I always seemed to return to that house and that room for a day or two now and then.

I loved the job and especially the company car and driving over theDot and Co Car State and sometimes into another. (You might be interest in "Me 'n That Old Car" or "Things I Think About Now and Then" in this same site.) Cars and Motorcycles were my great interest at that time but, the red head began to get mixed up in all that. First, with me on the motorcycle to the races and summertime rides through the hills and around the lakes. Then, after going to work with me in the company car I traded the motorcycle for. It was inevitable then that we would wind up husband and wife. You can take a look at how that all ended in this page and we invite you to do so.

Click on the movie at left and see how it all  started. That was 58 years ago  if one can believe that? How quick the time passes when you are having fun and kids. I will attempt to show you those years in pictures on the following pages of this site.

The video is courtesy of my Uncle Silas who thankfully was fooling around with the newly introduced Kodak 8mm color film camera. To try it out he asked if he could film our wedding.  I am so glad we agreed for we wouldn't have this treasure from the fifties if we had not.
